Because some Blue SPD Power Rangers marry Green SPD Power Rangers.

Because some time agents marry everyone.

The fact that “support” of gay marriage has been widdled down to fangirls talking about their slash OTP’s is terrible. Let’s just ignore the actual people who struggling and talk about ships.
I’m sick and tired of people only supporting LGBTQ rights when they pertain to “hot” celebrities or fictional characters. I’m sick and tired of slash fangirls acting like the fact that they read what is basically just gay porn means that they are obviously for gay rights. This is both a complete erasure of pretty much everyone who doesn’t fit the small category of attractive gay male and it treats the entire idea of someone being homosexual as an odd sort of fetishism. I’m not going to argue against slash fiction - people are allowed to enjoy whatever they want and that includes shipping and fandom stuff BUT the fact that they’re trying to fit their OTP’s into a post which should in fact include real people who are dealing with real struggles and description is just appalling to me.

“Back in December 2011 during a campaign stop in New Hampshire, Mitt Romney decided to drop by Vietnam War veteran Bob Garon’s breakfast table for a quick photo-op. What Romney didn’t realize is that Garon was sitting with his husband, whom he had married just a few months earlier.

What followed might be the single greatest “oblivious Romney” moment of the entire campaign. Enjoy.”

Occasionally, when talking about sexual orientation in my Sociology courses, a student will ask “Why can’t we have a straight pride parade?”

It hasn’t happened a lot, but enough students have asked the question to make me want to offer a response. I want to point out that the question tends to…

Gay marriage is now legal in New York!

timekiller-s:

“Just because Orbitz puts a gay guy in one of their ads doesn’t mean that they’re actually helping the gay community. To be fair they’ve done a lot more work in the LGBT space than just putting a gay guy in an ad, but if you make the case that you’re a gay-friendly company then you’ve got to actually be a gay-friendly company. Financially supporting a network that compares homosexuality to bestiality and necrophilia doesn’t fit that bill.”

It’s like being two-faced, like Target Corporation has been since the disclosure of corporate contributions to anti-gay political candidates in Minnesota (and yet Target is still considered a “gay-friendly” corporation because it offers partner benefits). I don’t feel like I can shop there anymore, even at a store in Oklahoma, far removed from Minnesota, because I fear indirectly supporting a political agenda with which I don’t agree.

I’m not likely to be using any travel services anytime soon so I don’t really think about them. I’d probably use Orbitz were the case to arise, assuming they rethink this thing about advertising on Fox “News” Channel.

Apparently the Florida Family Association deemed it necessary to “warn” people of the “danger” posed by patronizing the Disney theme parks on Disney’s Gay Day this past Saturday (June 4th):

“How would you feel if you entered the Magic Kingdom anticipating a normal day of fun with your family only to witness thousands of same-sex couples holding hands, hugging, kissing and wearing tee-shirts that promoted their lifestyle? … Why would Disney allow Gay Day to take place during regular operating hours at the expense of offending tens of thousands of unsuspecting guests when they require other special events to be held after normal operating hours? Disney requires special events like Grad Night and Night of Joy to be held after the Magic Kingdom’s regular operating hours,” contends the FFA. “Disney does this to avoid having a large group of likeminded people in the park at the same time with regular patrons who expect a normal day at the Magic Kingdom.”

ugh what the hell, this is so stupid

Wow. Seriously? >.<

WARNING: Ignorance in the form of a flying warning sign above!
Well, we’re obviously aliens from another planet trying to use Disneyland and Disneyworld as our base of converting all the ‘normal’ people into homosexuals and corrupting children.
LOL JK We are actually human beings who just want to have a good time at Disneyland/World. Go figure. Sorry for the misunderstanding brought on by your own ignorance (and my sarcasm).
Also, we’re not promoting our lifestyle. Closed-minded people are the ones who look at us and only see a bunch of deviants and nothing else. Some even get angry over it, but as one of my teachers said to me, “anger is a secondary emotion. Their anger comes from fear of something they do not and refuse to understand”. They don’t see us as living, breathing, loving human beings who are so much more than our sexuality. There is nothing wrong with us. If anything, there is something wrong with how people see at each other sometimes in general.
Come on. Promoting my lifestyle? It’s not like I’m going to be at Disneyland screaming “LESBIANISM - Now 25% off! Plaid shirts and androgynous haircuts only $15 more! $5 MAKE YOU HOLLA, LADIES!”. ;) haha
There is so much more I could say about this, but I want to play some music and read a book instead. Haters gonna hate. Screw the societal norm.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BARACK OBAMA, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim June 2011 as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month. I call upon the people of the United States to eliminate prejudice everywhere it exists, and to celebrate the great diversity of the American people.

Story of my life. My mother wouldn’t buy me a legalize gay shirt for Christmas because she was like “People will think you’re gay.” I’m like….but I’m straight. I just support gay rights. Am I not allowed or something?

THIS^ I was talking with my idiot roommate how I was considering joining an organization at college that supported gay rights. And she was like, “ummmmmm….awwwwkkkkkwarrrddd question….are you GAY?” And I say, “no.” And she say “Okay just checking!”…like really? Wtf. That’s not the fucking point. >:( My mom had a similar reaction too.
