the CEO of the Nestlé Group, thinks that access to water shouldn’t be a human right, but rather something that he can privatise and earn money from.
Or, to quote the twat:
“Water is of course the most important raw material we have today in the world. It’s a question of whether we should privatise the normal water supply for the population. And there are two different opinions on the matter.
The first one, which I think is extreme, is represented by the NGOs, who bang on about water as a public right. That means that as a human being you should have a right to water. That’s an extreme solution.
The other view says that water is a foodstuff like any other, and like any other foodstuff it should have a market value. Personally I believe it’s better to give a foodstuff a value so that we’re all aware that it has a price, and then that one should take specific measures for the part of the population that has no access to this water, and there are many different possibilities there.
I’m still of the opinion that the biggest social responsibility of any CEO is to maintain and ensure the successful and profitable future of his enterprise. For only if we can ensure or continued, longterm existence will we be in the position to actively participate in the solution of the problems that exist in the world today.
dis indescribable fucker.
The lie of the “Justice” system is that it’s there to protect white people. This is a fallacy. One that will one day, sooner rather than later, come back to haunt you. The “Justice” system is there, not to protect white people but to protect white people from being punished. (In addition to making massive profits of course) White people, both those who work to be non-racist as well as those who don’t, might take some comfort in knowing that in most cases, they don’t have to worry about the police. Often, they have no reason to think about the system at all. The part so many of you seem to be forgetting is that while some of you will read about the Prison Industrial Complex and others will absorb statistic after statistic that says Black people are unfairly targeted, given higher incarceration rates and longer sentences for the same or lessor crimes, you haven’t thought about what that means for you personally.
While your skin color may work in your favor as far as jail time goes, being a victim of white-on-white crime, is quite the opposite. 96% of all rapes are committed by white men. Yet, 80% of rape inmates are Black. This means most male rapists are walking free. Free to rape again, simply because of the color of their skin. Now, add that to the fact that most crime, is intraracial and not interracial and you have white on white homicide at 86%. White on white homicide is slightly lower than Black on Black homicide but remember, Black people are getting sent to jail these days for breathing. White people are being given less than a slap on the wrist for even vicious crimes.
If you are white, not only should you be angry that criminals with your skin tone aren’t getting punished, you should be terrified that criminals of your skin tone will find you.

I LOVE THIS PERSON. LOVE LOVE LOVE.
AWWWHELLYEAH.
This guy’s from my hometown! :D
This is simply kick-ass but it HAS to be noted: WE STILL LIVE IN A VERY SEGREGATED WORLD. Segregation (aka white people excluding POC in all facets of life in every sense of the word) is still very much a THING (thanks to white supremacy and the “post-racial” myth). STILL LOVE THIS THOUGH.

The fact that “support” of gay marriage has been widdled down to fangirls talking about their slash OTP’s is terrible. Let’s just ignore the actual people who struggling and talk about ships.
I’m sick and tired of people only supporting LGBTQ rights when they pertain to “hot” celebrities or fictional characters. I’m sick and tired of slash fangirls acting like the fact that they read what is basically just gay porn means that they are obviously for gay rights. This is both a complete erasure of pretty much everyone who doesn’t fit the small category of attractive gay male and it treats the entire idea of someone being homosexual as an odd sort of fetishism. I’m not going to argue against slash fiction - people are allowed to enjoy whatever they want and that includes shipping and fandom stuff BUT the fact that they’re trying to fit their OTP’s into a post which should in fact include real people who are dealing with real struggles and description is just appalling to me.

Ha ha nice try this has got to have been shopped. The Republican principle of personal responsibility actually means that women are the personal responsibility of men.
I love your posts and all, Roach, but can you please not be so generalizing??? No offense, but it’s hypocritical to just throw a carpet statement over a group of people. I know it might be surprising, but the republican party are not a horde of sexist hate demons from the cavernous belly of Jörmungandr.
Probably.
Anyway, I would much appreciate it if you didn’t say things like that.
Okay I was being pretty snarky there on purpose but hypocritical? Fucking nope. The Republicans are not some randomass group of people who should be exempt from summation, criticism, or my deep ire, they are a political party. With voluntary membership and an agenda that explicitly involves a reduction in women’s health and rights. You don’t judge a political party by what some of the nicer members would like to stick up for, you judge that political party by the legislation they try and enact, and right now the Republican party is damn well synonymous with sexist hate demons. There’s a few guys saying ‘maybe we should let women make their own choices about their own bodies?’ and there’s the official Republican Platform which is that no they shouldn’t. The stuff they are working to do is directly affecting my civil rights and employment opportunities and ability to obtain health care.
If you consider yourself part of the Republican Party, if you are voting Republican, you are directly responsible for enabling these people to keep doing what they’re doing. Supporting guys like Randy Moody, okay, great, awesome, send him a cookie with YOU NOTICED WOMEN ARE PEOPLE GREAT JOB iced on it. But throw in with a party that’s actually working on the whole to improve and increase people’s choices and opportunities, for fuck’s sake, and maybe if enough people do that the Republican party might start fielding more guys like this instead of guys like Mitt ‘No abortions for rape and incest victims’ Romney.
Political rant of the night over, I’m fucking done.

We citizens from across the European Union and the world urge you to denounce Law 8711. The arrival of the delegation on Justice and Security from the EU is the time to show that Ukraine takes human rights seriously.
Ukraine must take a stand against shocking displays of violence such as that perpetuated against Svyatoslav Sheremet.

Abortions Have Made Life Better for Millions Of Men: It’s About Time to Speak Up in Support
“We need to hear from the men, too.
For every single woman who’s ever had an abortion, there’s a man somewhere in the story. For every woman who was able to delay motherhood until a better moment, or improve her existing kids’ chances by not enlarging her brood, or end a pregnancy that was doomed to end in tragedy and pain, there’s also a man out there who is not a father today — or is a better father to the kids he has — because a woman he was involved with had the means to make this decision.
Forty years of feminism notwithstanding, the reality in American politics and culture is that our national discussion around this issue won’t materially change until men understand just how invested they are in this issue — and then stand up with us to insist that our reproductive rights be protected and preserved.”
(T.W. Discussion of Rape/Rape Culture)
The Daily Beast/Newsweek has a slideshow of the “25 Most Crime-Rattled Colleges.” The University of Louisville is ranked 9th on the list.
The method behind the rankings:
We looked at four-year nonprofit private colleges and four-year public colleges with more than 6,000 total students, taking into account the numbers for each school’s primary campus and auxiliary campuses in the same metro area as the main campus. Our final dataset included more than 500 universities. The crimes we considered were: murder, negligent murder, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, car theft, and arson. Because not all crimes are the same, we devised a subjective weighting system based on crime severity. Burglary established our low-end baseline for weighting; car theft was weighted twice as much as burglary; assault and robbery, six times as much as burglary; arson and negligent manslaughter, 10 times as much as burglary; and murder, 20 times as much as burglary.
Conspicuously absent from the tracked crimes list? Rape. Is it folded into assault or left out altogether?
Here’s 2010 NPR news series on seeking justice for campus rapes, and a USA Today story from April on Title IX’s impact on how colleges respond to sexual assault and rape. It’s a crime specific and widespread enough to warrant its own line item in a well-publicized study — as much as car theft, at least.

Western Kentucky University: Support art student’s response to public pro-life display.
Hilltoppers for Life placed 4,000 crosses on bleachers on the Western Kentucky University campus to protest abortion. An art student who felt bombarded by the display responded by placing condoms on some of the crosses. The administration is now demanding that she apologize for her public response to a public display. Show support for this art student and tell WKU to allow freedom of speech for ALL people.
I really want to get through to my school administration that it is not ok to let one group speak out for what they believe and then try to punish another that is doing the same thing but with an opposite stance. WKU has been under fire before for freedom of speech. They got national attention earlier this year for new rules they were trying to create that would censor what students could say about WKU on social media. It was because of all of the national attention they received that they decided to back off. I want the same thing to happen here. It’s difficult to be pro-choice and fight for reproductive rights, especially here in the bible belt. Please help me and my fellow students make our administration actually LISTEN to us. Sign the petition and spread it.
Signal boost.
Putting condoms on anti-choice displays deserves all the support.
They’re even threatening to fail her based on this which goes against policy. Here is a professor of that school’s response.Signal boost.
STATEMENTS SUCH AS ‘OMG SOME GAY COUPLES CANT BE PARENTS BUT SNOOKI CAN” ARE NOT PRODUCTIVE!!!
1. since when are you randos the authority on good parenting?2. snooki is an adult, and regardless of her OBVIOUSLY EXAGERATED television persona, she actually has some of the best values i’ve seen on tv in a while (such as: dont judge her robust sexuality and if you do its your problem, don’t tell her what to wear, let her eat what she wants, and dont tell her what to do because she can make her own decisions taks very much.)
3. when you make claims about snooki’s ability to be a parent you simultaneously slut shame her, pass judgment on her use of drugs such as alcohol, and borderline pathologize her by suggesting shes just too ‘crazy’ to be a responsible parent. meanwhile she’s made a number of claims about her concerns that she drank in the first month before she knew she was pregnant, obviously already considering the way she will be changing her lifestyle to ensure her baby’s good health.
so FUCK OFF PEOPLE and stop scrutinizing women on TV like they’re there purely for your judgment and policing. and DEFINITELY don’t dichotomize and polarize snooki’s pregnancy with the struggles of gay couples regarding children because, SURPRISE, THOSE TWO THINGS HAVE NO RELATIONSHIP TO EACH OTHER AND TELLING SNOOKI SHE SHOULD HAVE A BABY IS NOT ONLY WAY OUT OF LINE IT ALSO DOESNT MOVE GAY RIGHTS ALONG ANY FASTER.
(obviously i have strong feelings about snooki recently)
Bless you person on the internet.I have a lot of positive feelings about Snookie, a lot of negative feelings about the adoption industry and INFINITE NEGATIVE FEELINGS about rhetoric that pits (implied white, implied wealthy) gay people against poor women, or tacky women, or single women, or women of color and all the stereotypes embedded in all of that, in some sort of contest for who deserves to raise those women’s children.
As if gay people aren’t single parents! As if there are no working class gay people of color trying to raise their kids in a society that treats them like they are such invariably shitty parents that they would do us all a favor to just let superior people take their children.
FUCKING THIS!!! ALL OF THIS!!!
Because there isn’t a single girl or woman in this world that hasn’t been intruded upon and sometimes it’s relatively benign and sometimes it’s so fucking painful.

Dangerous abortions ‘on the rise’, says WHO
The World Health Organization study suggests global abortion rates are steady, at 28 per 1,000 women a year.
However, the proportion of the total carried out without trained clinical help rose from 44% in 1995 to 49% in 2008.
HEY NO SHIT. Because when you restrict access to abortions, you are not eliminating abortions. You are making them unsafe for women.
And the fun thing is, as Pennsylvania has proven, illegal abortions can help get legal ones shut down, driving more people to illegal abortions!
AYO LIBERTARIANS WHO WANT TO LEGALIZE DRUGS BECAUSE “PEOPLE ARE GONNA DO THEM ANYWAY”
SAME SHIT GOES FOR ABORTIONS
FUCKING CHECK YOURSELF AND YOUR OPINIONS AND HOW MUCH SENSE THEY MAKE
